Introduction to the Relational Approach
Week one consists of introducing the student to the basic method and with how it works to change the perceptions of dogs. Students practice the method under supervision while receiving insight into various methods and concepts within a classroom setting.
During Week 2 Students are introduced to more advanced methods and concepts which include dealing with aggressive behavior cases, fear, anxiety and dealing with multiple dogs within the home environment. Various scenarios and situations are profiled which the student may encounter as a trainer. Students will receive insight into the application of certain tools associated with this system of training. Students receive specialized instruction on Service Dog Training as well as Protection. Students receive instruction on other aspects of training offered to dog owners including Home Visit, Boarding and Training, Distance etc. Students are tested for Certification during this final week.
